Projects > Riparian Mapping
Caslys developed a terrain-based model to map riparian habitat for a series of Planning Regions in the province of Alberta including: Red Deer, North Saskatchewan, Upper Athabasca, Upper Peace, and Lower Peace. The analysis integrates terrain variables together with the characteristics of different hydrological features types. The model was verified through a statistical analysis, comparison with the province of Alberta’s flood mapping dataset and through visual inspection using remotely sensed imagery (air photos SPOT and Landsat TM). This project utilized the province of Alberta’s SLNET and Hydropolys datasets.
