Projects > Freshwater Atlas Communication Materials
Caslys worked with the Integrated Land Management Branch to develop a series of communications materials and a User Manual outlining the functionality and capability of the 1:20,000 scale Freshwater Atlas. The dataset provides a standardized base for mapping the province’s hydrological features including:
- streams, tributaries and major rivers
- obstructions - dams, falls and rapids
- waterbodies - lakes, wetlands and glaciers
- coastal bays and inlets
- watersheds - individual watersheds to larger drainage basins
Each stream in the province has its own watershed and is linked to the other streams and watersheds that it flows from and to through a coding system that allows stream flow networks to be modelled.
