Philip Deschenes

Geomatics Analyst

Philip Deschenes has a background in geography, with a focus on GIS and remote sensing. He holds a BSc in Geography from the University of Victoria, where he also developed and taught GIS workshops through the university library. He has worked in both urban and environmental sectors to support sustainable land use, infrastructure development, and accessibility planning. Philip supports municipalities in maintaining and improving their geospatial infrastructure, including emergency service mapping, and has applied his remote sensing expertise to land use classification projects across Western Canada and the Territories.

Outside of work, Philip has a passion for film, food, and the outdoors. He enjoys spending weekends helping cater local events and is a big proponent of food tourism, especially if it means trying something new.
